Before their wedding in the South of France, Lovisa Barkman and Henric met seven years ago in the same neighborhood in Stockholm and got engaged three years ago in Cap-Ferrat. Since then, the couple has traveled extensively and now lives in Monaco. It was only natural that the Swedish content creator dreamed of organizing her wedding with Henric there, during a festive weekend at La Vigie — the former home of Karl Lagerfeld, known for its signature white walls.
"Ever since I first saw La Vigie, I always thought it would be the most beautiful place to get married. It’s a majestic and stunning venue, overlooking the bay of Monaco and Roquebrune-Cap-Martin," recalls Lovisa Barkman about the main location of her wedding with Henric. The welcome dinner took place at the Grand-Hôtel Four Seasons Cap-Ferrat: "It’s our favorite place in the South, and it’s also where we got engaged."
With the help of White Eden Weddings, Lovisa and Henric wanted to gather their loved ones from around the world in the South of France.
"Even though we’re both Swedish, I truly believe we’re meant to live in France. We love its people, its culture, values, cuisine, architecture — everything about it. I’ve always loved spending summers in the South, and Paris has always been my favorite city. I spent so much time there that I convinced Henric to move with me three years ago," Lovisa explains.
For her wedding with Henric, Lovisa Barkman wore six different fashion-forward looks over the weekend
As she regularly shares with her 600k followers on Instagram, Lovisa Barkman is a true fashion enthusiast, known for her minimalist and refined Scandinavian aesthetic. For her wedding weekend with Henric, finding the perfect outfits became a high-fashion mission.
"Since our wedding spanned over three days, I was thrilled to be able to wear several looks. I wanted each one to be completely different," she says.
Always celebrating French fashion, Lovisa collaborated with Parisian designer Rime Arodaky for several of her bridal looks, including her main ceremony dress.
"For my main dress, I always dreamed of something classic, and I had a very clear vision of the kind of gown I wanted to create with Rime Arodaky," she recalls. "It turned out exactly how I imagined it: classic, beautiful, romantic, yet with a few original touches and details. We added lace to give the illusion of flowers, perfectly matching the stunning garden where the ceremony was held. I wanted a minimalist dress, but still spectacular, with a long train and a cathedral-length veil."
For the other wedding moments, Lovisa switched between a Grace Kelly-inspired gown for the welcome dinner, full-lace or sheer designs for the evening party, and finally a short lace dress for the brunch — which she quickly swapped for a pristine white swimsuit during the pool party.
